Summer 2019 Volunteer Training

Are you looking forward to changing the lives of the next generation with mentoring, safe schools and reading literacy? Kids on the Move for Success is looking for volunteers, mentors and academic buddies for our Discovery sTEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) mentoring program and Knowledge is Powerful in literacy program in the DeKalb County School District. You will be working with elementary, middle and high school aged school children who could have academic and/or behavior challenges. B.S. or B.A. in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) major or currently employed in technology or entrepreneurial related field would be preferred, but not required. You will need to pass a background check to work with students. Since 2013, we have welcomed and counted on volunteers from all over the world to help us make a difference in the next generation.

As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work with me. Many do not realize how I am very involved in every facet of the organization from after-school and lunch meetings, parent training, field trips, and community safety town halls,

The volunteer orientation meetings will be on July 9 and 29, 2019. We will also be partnering with DeKalb County School District to provide onsite orientation for background checks to speed up the process to become a volunteer at our July 29, 2019 session. Light refreshments will be provided. You will network and meeting passionate people who want to make a difference in the next generation, have fun and develop positive visions within our youth. Sign up at https://lnkd.in/ektwXsw.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our sessions.
